Meet Your Instructor:

Hi, I’m Alissa. I’m a registered dietitian, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, personal trainer and body image healer. I work with women to help them improve their relationships with food, movement, and body image.  

For years, I struggled with my relationship with my body. After going on my own journey to make peace with my body and my relationship to food, I began working with other women to help them do the same. I've worked with hundreds of women, all of whom come to me with similar food and body concerns. 

It breaks my heart to see so many women feeling self-conscious, ashamed, and stuck - with their body image holding them back from living their full, authentic lives. But it also fires me up. I'm extremely passionate about empowering women to reclaim the space and the right to eat, live, and enjoy their bodies unapologetically.  

Which is why I created the Body Image Reboot.  

In this 8-week program, held LIVE online, you will be led through the exact transformational method that I use with my private coaching clients. Because I want all women to have access to these tools, so you can build the confidence to live a more authentic, empowered life.

My 4-step transformation method gives you a clear roadmap to food and body freedom. 

Step 1: Reset

This is where we build a solid foundation of body image fundamentals. We will talk about why this work is so important, and you'll figure out what kind of relationship you actually want with your body. You will learn about the different components of positive body image and you will begin to shift the way you think about female bodies, setting the stage for the rest of the course.


Step 2: Explore

In the second part of the course, you will explore your experience of living in your body over time, making meaning of experiences that may seem unrelated. You'll work through several different exercises to help you connect the dots. This is where many people have huge revelations about their relationship to their bodies, food, and themselves.


Step 3: Restore

In this section, we will focus on rewiring your brain and training it to work with you, instead of against you. We'll work on shifting your awareness and discuss ways to navigate fear and judgment when it comes to accepting yourself. You'll learn to notice and change negative self-talk patterns and get tools to become kinder to yourself. 


Step 4: Transform

Finally, we'll build on the foundation you've developed. We'll discuss how to apply the techniques you've learned to your relationship with food, exercise, and your body. You'll learn how to eat, move, and accept your body so that you can achieve your definition of health and well-being, without the obsession. Plus, you'll create your own personal body image plan - a roadmap for lasting change.

Alissa Rumsey MS, RD, CDN, CSCS is a New York City-based registered dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor who is passionate about empowering women to reclaim the space to eat and live unapologetically. As the founder of Alissa Rumsey Nutrition and Wellness, a weight-inclusive private practice, she has helped hundreds of women break the dieting cycle and cultivate a healthy and peaceful relationship with food and their bodies. Her philosophy is rooted in the anti-diet and Health at Every Size (HAES®) framework, as she believes true health comes from nurturing behaviors to enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Alissa is a monthly contributor to US News and World Report and has appeared in over 100 media outlets including NBC Nightly News, CNN, ABC, SELF, and Women's Health. Alissa earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Dietetics and Exercise Science from the University of Delaware and a Master's of Science degree in Health Communications from Boston University. Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What are the dates and times of the program?

The program starts on Tuesday, March 31st and ends on Tuesday, May 19th. Live workshops will be weekly on Tuesdays, beginning the afternoon of March 31st. They will alternate afternoons (1-2 pm EDT) and evenings (8-9 pm EDT) each week.

If you can't make the live sessions, that is ok! They will all be recorded live and available to watch within 24 hours after each sesson. 

2. I'm already working with a dietitian and/or therapist - will this still be beneficial for me?

Yes it will! The Body Image Reboot is not a replacement for individualized therapy with a dietitian or thearpist. Instead, it's a program designed to be a helpful addition to your journey, whether you're already in 1:1 therapy or not. The material you'll be working through in the program on your own and in the group setting can then be processed privately with your therapist or dietitian. And if you're not currently working with a therapist or dietitian, don't worry - the feedback from the fall cohort was that it was helpful to people with or without an individual support person, as it was so thorough and specific. 

3. How are the live workshops structured?

The live workshops will be held once a week for 60 minutes. The first part of the workshop will be that week's topic, after which we'll have a group discussion, take aways, and time for individual Q&A.

4. How much time per week will this course require?

Expect to spend between 1 and 2 hours each week, between watching the videos and completing the worksheets. It's okay if you get behind, you'll have access to the entire course for one full year and you'll be able to download all the materials to keep forever.

5. What if I can't attend one of the live sessions?

Not a problem! All of the live sessions will be recorded and sent out within 24 hours after each live workshop, so if you can't make them live, you get to watch it on your own timeframe. A few of the fall cohort members weren't able to watch most of the live workshops and they STILL said "It was so helpful to hear the workshop content, I learned so much and got to hear from other people who were going through the same thing as me!".

6. Can I complete this course whenever I want?

Technically yes, though I did not set this up to be a self-paced course. While those can be useful, the feedback I've received over the years is that many people struggle to complete the content and wanted a safe space to discuss the coursework with other group members. That said, you will have access to all the course materials for one full year so, if you get behind, you'll still be able to work through everything on your own time frame. 

7. Do I need to have any prior knowledge of Intuitive Eating?

Not necessarily. While the course does include some more nuanced concepts of intuitive eating, you will be getting a copy of my Intuitive Eating Beginner's Guide and my Intuitive Eating Crash Course self-paced online program when you enroll in the Body Image Reboot. 

8. What if I want to lose weight?

It's totally normal to still desire to change your body - this is what society is constantly telling us we need to do, so it's no wonder the desire is still there. But if you're willing to take a leap, and try something new, you'll learn how you can put your desire for weight loss on the back burner and work on the the skills to practice accepting your body as it is here and now.

9. I'm struggling with an eating disorder. Can I take this course?

This course is not meant for people with active eating disorders. Please wait to take this course until you're at least several months into recovery and are working with experienced ED clinicians. If you're unsure, ask your treatment team whether this course is appropriate for you and then email me to discuss further: [email protected]

10. Is there a payment plan option?

Yes there is! You have the option of paying over three months, instead of all at once. The payment plan is 3 payments of $149: the first payment is due at sign up and the second will be billed on April 15th, the third on May 15th. To enroll in the this plan, click here and use code PAYMENTPLAN.

11. Are there any scholarships available if I can't afford the course?

We are currently working on a scholarship program for people who are experiencing financial hardship and expect to have it up and running the next time we run this course, in late 2020. Click here to be notified when these are available.

12. What is the refund policy?

If you watch the videos, do the worksheets, ask questions in the group and watch the live coaching sessions and feel like it isn't helpful for you – reach out to us directly at [email protected] and we will do our best to solve the problem. If it cannot be solved, we will give you your money back within the first 30 days.  

Cancellations Policy: Cancellations made more than seven (7) days out from the group program start date will be fully refundable. Cancellations made less than seven (7) days out from the group program start date, but prior to the second group session, will be eligible for a 50 percent refund. Cancellations made after the second group session are non-refundable.
