- Melanie W.

Brenna O'Malley, RD
Brenna is a registered dietitian and founder of the mindful health website, The Wellful. Brenna specializes in helping people move away from dieting and disordered eating patterns to develop a healthy relationship with food and their body. She uses a non-diet, mindful approach to nutrition and health and believes that the ‘why’ we eat is just as important as the ‘what’ we eat. Brenna practices from a Health at Every Size (HAES®) perspective and truly believes that all foods can fit in a healthy diet.
Brenna will be leading the weekly group support groups.
Alissa Rumsey, MS, RD
Alissa is a registered dietitian and founder of Alissa Rumsey Nutrition and Wellness. She specializes in Intuitive Eating, body acceptance and disordered eating recovery. Her philosophy is rooted in the anti-diet and Health at Every Size (HAES®) movement, as she believes true health comes from nurturing behaviors to enhance physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. She is extremely passionate about empowering women to reclaim the space and the right to eat, live, and enjoy their bodies unapologetically.
Alissa will be hosting the two live Q&A sessions.
Enrollment Closes: Sunday, January 12th
1. What are the dates and times of the program?
The Intuitive Eating Support Group will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 8-9 pm ET for six weeks. They will begin Tuesday, January 14th and end on Tuesday, February 18th.
2. How are the live support groups structured?
The live support group will be held over Zoom video conference for 60 minutes each week. Each session will cover a workbook chapter followed by group discussion, take aways, and time for individual Q&A.
3. How much time per week will this group require?
Expect to spend between 1 and 2 hours each week, between attending the session and completing the workbook chapter.
4. Can I complete this whenever I want?
This is not a self-paced course. While those can be useful, the feedback I've received over the years is that many people struggle to complete the content and wanted a safe space to discuss these concepts with other group members. If you prefer this type of format, I do offer a self-paced Intuitive Eating Crash Course.
5. Do I need to have any prior knowledge of Intuitive Eating?
Not necessarily. While we will be discussing more nuanced aspects of intuitive eating in a group setting, there are many materials for you to read for background on my website and the Intuitive Eating Workbook does a thorough job of explaining each of the principles.
6. What if I want to lose weight?
It's totally normal to still want to lose weight - this is what society is constantly telling us we need to do, so it's no wonder the desire is still there. But if you're willing to take a leap, and try something new, you'll learn how you can put your desire for weight loss on the back burner and accept your body as it is here and now.
7. I'm struggling with an eating disorder. Can I still enroll?
This support group is not meant for people with active eating disorders. Please wait to join until you're at least several months into recovery and are working with experienced ED clinicians. If you're unsure, ask your treatment team whether this support group is appropriate for you and then email me to discuss further: [email protected]
8. Is there a payment plan option?
Yes! Click here to enroll with the payment plan option.
9. What if I have another question?
Email us at [email protected] with subject line "Intuitive Eating Support Group Question", and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
